WOW! I'm very behind on Logan's blog! You can tell that the last two months have been a little rough because I haven't had the time to update it, but we'll get to all those details later.
At Logan's 4 month well child check, he got 3 more shots and an oral vaccine. Poor little guy HATED this visit because we had to wake him from a nap, and I'm pretty sure he remembered the shots he got the last time, because he started screaming the minute we laid him on the table for the doctor to examine. :(
Height: 26 inches (79%) Weight: 17 lbs 1 oz (79%) Head Circumference 17.25 in. (89%)
UPDATES:
Logan went on his first plane ride and vacation to Austin, TX! He did great on the plane, and we got compliments from everyone around us on how happy and content he was the entire time! :) We were so proud!!!
He also began breastfeeding 3 days before our trip to Texas! I had been trying to get him to latch on, with no luck, since he was born. I was getting VERY sick of pumping, so the fact that he decided to start breastfeeding out of nowhere was amazing! I nursed him on the plane and he was so happy and comforted! I really think that made all the difference. :)
Logan's sleep had REALLY declined. :( He had started doing so well and having long stretches at night, but after our trip to Austin, everything went downhill. That's the main reason why I haven't had the energy to update the blog. Logan was waking up every 1-3 hours ALL night, every night. It was so hard. :(
Logan found his toes! He also started to roll to his side from his back and began reaching for objects!
Loves his toesies!!!
We also started solids this month! We weren't sure if he was ready yet, but he always seemed hungry, and breast milk, and formula were not doing the trick. We started with organic brown rice cereal that I made myself using the Baby Bullet baby food machine! It's so fun! We also gave him banana (which he LOVED), avocado (didn't like), sweet potato (sort of liked) and apple (didn't like). ;)
Logan turned 3 months on January 20th! He has done quite a bit in the month of January! Here is a breakdown of fun accomplishments/events:
Logan gave up his pacifier all on his own! He has now moved on to sucking on his bunny/blankie (when he's not swaddled)
He weighs about 16 pounds now and is about 26 inches long!
He's working on rolling over! He's rolled to his side a couple of times.
Logan's "talking" so much more now! He loves to babble, gurgle, and LAUGH all the time! :)
He can hold his head up by himself, turn it to the sides, and look up and down!
He LOVES bath time! He calms down right away, and waits for me to sing songs. :)
We've had a pretty rough January when it comes to his sleep. Not sure if he went through a growth spurt, but he was waking up every couple of hours for a few weeks. No fun! He's back to sleeping 6-7 hour stretches now. Thank GOD!
Logan loves putting his hands in his mouth, and sucks on his fingers when he's tired. When he's swaddled, he sucks on his bottom lip while he goes to sleep. <3
Still sleeping in his Rock and Play sleeper in our room. Going to attempt the transition to his crib after our trip to Austin in February.
Tries to hold his own bottle! So cute!
Grew out of his 0-3 month clothes, and is barely fitting his 3-6 month outfits. 6 month clothes fit him perfectly! He's also in size 2 diapers! Such a big man!!!!
Logan LOVES getting kisses from Mommy and Daddy! He laughs his butt off when we kiss his neck!
Modeling his new Gymboree outfit!
Sibling love!
Cheering for the Steelers at home while Daddy was at the game! :)
Check out those muscles! :)
Happy little baby bear!
Holding his bottle!
Napping with his bunny...before he gave up his pacifier.
Chubbers!
This video was at church, the day after Abuelita's birthday. Logan had a blast!
Wow...time has really flown by! Logan is 2 months old now!!! We've made it through Halloween (the day after we got home from the hospital), Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. These last two months have been the best, and the most challenging months of our lives. Logan has really grown into a happy, healthy, and BIG baby boy. :) He now drinks 4 oz. every 3 hours, and 5 oz. right before bed! At his 2 month well child check, he weighed 14 lbs and was 23.25 inches long!
Things Logan Loves:
Holding hands with Mommy while he falls asleep
EATING! He gets excited when he sees his bottle and gets grumpy if you don't give it to him fast enough!
Having "conversations" back and forth with Mommy. He smiles as we take turns "gooing" and "gawing"
TV! We try to turn him away from the TV, but he is drawn to it! Such a man!
Being held upright. He only likes being held sideways if he's really tired and about to go to sleep
Rocking in his swing and watching his mobile.
Helping Mommy and Abuelito (Grandpa) cook dinner while in his Baby Bjorn.
Going for walks and drives in the car.
Seeing Daddy when he comes home from work! Always has a big smile for him!
Baths!!! Especially when we sing "The Wheels on the Bus"
Pacifier...sometimes! He has a love/hate relationship with it. He only wants it when he's REALLY tired. Otherwise, he just plays with it with his tongue and slobbers all over it. :)
Things Logan Hates:
Tummy time for more than 3 minutes! We're working on doing more every day, but he is not a big fun of it.
Being TOO hot. He is a sweaty little monkey and would be content in a onesie or just a diaper. :)
Passing gas. :( You would think that being a little man, he would love to toot, but it's really painful for him, and it has kept ALL of us up many nights!
Strangers! He has gotten very used to mommy and daddy's arms, and doesn't like it when other people hold him. Uh oh!!!!!!!
Smiles after 3 shots in his thighs at his 2 month check up.
