22 Weeks & Father's Day!

22 Weeks: (6/19/11) "Baby's now the size of a papaya- about 11 inches long and almost a pound! Baby's settling into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.  His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

LOGAN UPDATE:  Mr. Logan has been an active little man this week.  I've finally felt him moving and kicking this week!  I wasn't sure before, but now, I'm positive. :)  I feel him most in the morning, between 8:30-10am, and in the evening around 7pm.  It's such a cool feeling!  I can't wait for the kicking to get stronger so that Kevin can feel him too!

Cravings:  I'm still obsessed with fruit! I made a huge fruit salad with watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, and strawberries! MMM!  I've also been eating grapefruit and mangos still. :)  The weather has been SOOO HOT here (mid to high 80's) everyday that I can't help to crave popsicles and ice cream like crazy!  My latest ice cream flavor is cookies and cream.  I'm going to have an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins for my So Cal shower next weekend, which I can't stop thinking about! :)

* Highlight:  KEVIN'S FIRST FATHER'S DAY! *
We had planned a couple of months ago to celebrate Father's Day by going camping along the river.  We booked our perfect site, bought a HUGE new tent, and planned all the snacks we were going to bring. Unfortunately, we couldn't go this year because there was a pretty large thunderstorm that decided to sit over our campground- complete with hail and lightning in certain areas.  Not very safe camping weather. :(  Maybe it was the hormones, but I was SO upset! Way more than my dad and Kevin were.  I just wanted this Father's Day to be special for the both of them, and I wasn't sure if we could still have a good day.

On a positive note, Kevin LOVED his Father's Day gifts from Logan and Bailey. :)  He got a Daddy picture frame with Logan's ultrasound picture for his office, clothes, a new bathing suit, a "New Dad" book, and a Daddy Tool Kit to help him with the fun task of changing diapers in a few months! :)  I got my dad 2 cards- one from me, and one from Logan!  I also got him a Laker's shirt, and made him a scrapbooked picture of Logan to put in his room. He loved it!

  • After presents, we all ended up having a wonderful breakfast on the patio of Collindale Golf Course, then went to see Pirates of the Carribean afterwards.  We also had Wahoo's for lunch-which was delicious!  The day turned out really great, even though we didn't go camping. :)

21 Weeks/ Summer Break!

21 Weeks: (6/12/11) "Baby's now the size of a banana!  You may soon feel like he's practicing martial arts as his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now.
UPDATE:  Friday was my last day of work for 6 whole weeks!!!! This is the best part about working for the school district fo sure!  I spent most of the week cleaning the house, going grocery shopping, and shopping for Kevin and my dad's Father's Day presents.  I thought I would be SO bored being at home, but the week actually flew by!  I did treat myself to a prenantal massage, which was AMAZING! I felt like a new lady!!  Kevin and I also took Bailey for her annual vet check-up on Thursday. We also watched our friends' dog, Remi, this week while they were in Alaska!  Bailey and Remi had a great time playing all week.  They got along really great.  I'm sure Bailey is going to be really bummed when Remi gets picked up tomorrow.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Thanks to Logan's Nana and Papa Welch, we bought Logan's stroller and it got delivered on Friday!  We did a ton of research and decided on the Jeep Liberty Sport X All Terrain stroller!  We were going to go with a much more expensive jogging stroller, but in reality, I'm probably NEVER going to be jogging with Logan.  We loved the all terrain wheels on the Jeep stoller since we do go on walking trails and camping.  The price was also a BIG decision maker since it was the least expensive all terrain stroller that still got a great safety and consumer reports rating.  Kevin got SO excited when it came that he had to put it together right away! Not sure what we're going to do with it until the baby comes, but it sure does look cute! :)

  •  Yesterday (Saturday), my dad, Kevin, and I all went to the Colorado Rapids soccer game in Denver!  We had bought my dad tickets to the game for Christmas, along with a Rapids t-shirt!  We had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory before the game.  Logan was very excited about the yummy Italian food! mmm!  We had a great time at the game!!! They were playing the LA Galaxy, but Beckham didn't play, so we were all a little bummed.  We had great seats, and I got to enjoy a BIG lemonade and a pretzel as my after dinner snack, while Kevin and my dad drank beer. :)  Kevin bought Logan a little Rapids fox mascot stuffed animal for his room! Very cute!!!

20 Weeks! (Halfway There!) & 3rd Ultrasound

20 Weeks:  (6/5/11) "Baby's now the size of a cantelope! Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel.  He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion.

Little Logan:  We had our BIG 20 week ultrasound on Monday!  Logan really put on a show and was moving around the entire time. At one point, he looked like he was doing karate chops, and later on it looked like he was praying. :)  He weighs 14 oz. and has 10 fingers and 10 toes from what we could see on the screen. His heartbeat was 140 and we got to see the technician take pictures of his brain, spine, femers, and heart.  It was really cool! He's a little person already!!! The technician said he was such a fun baby to take "pictures" of. We were very proud parents! :)
